I believe we all owe big time to the Gap Inc., We all owe a big thank you to Gap, Holt Renfrew, American Eagle, Roots, Aldo, and many more clothing company that in the past few years have changed into "lifestyle" companies.
It seems all they do somehow affects our life.
We all owe a big thank you, since they create who we are, our image. More in depth, it seems that we owe the image of who we are to these companies. They shape our lives. Since long ago I realized inside and outside don't have to match. Today, people believe these companies are following the trend. The trend of clothes, organic food and nature. But I ask who creates the trend?
We are the generation of consumers, with no pride as to what we have accomplished or what we have gone through, our easy lives are consumed with the thought of consumption. We are exposed to be a consumer. We are the generation with out any great war or depression. Everything seems to be available to us, so we dream big and we consume and use. It takes a long time until we realize our dreams of being rich our just thoughts dominated by the frenzy of information and pictures we are exposed to. This cycle like process goes on. We have become lifeless, Robots, Numbers. No one benefits. Things we own end up owning us. We live by the dream of being in control, in control of our lives. And that is just a dream dominated by the frenzy of pictures, sounds and information.
